In need of some insight into FRGs…

So the boy and I were talking last night, and he gave me a bit of a heads up about the possibility that I may have to lead an FRG somewhere down the line after we get married. I immediately had this huge sense of dread because I’ve heard about FRGs just being filled with drama. He said to me, “You’ve seen Army Wives at least once, right?” I said, “Yeaaah…” and he goes, “Yeah, it’s pretty much like that. But in all honesty, FRGs are what you make of it. You can lay down the law and be like, ‘Look, no drama, no gossip. We are here to focus on fundraising or support or whatever’ and just keep to that.”

Ugh, I just don’t know. Has anybody been involved with or currently involved with an FRG? How has that experience been for you? Any tips or recommendations you have as to how to handle it all?
